    Team Austria🇦🇹

    Zahir Shah

    is our founder and chairman. He comes from Nangarhar Afghanistan, the province where the Zaki Foundation is active. In 2015 he fled to Austria at the age of 19. Since 2020 he has had a positive asylum decision with a permanent residence permit, and now lives and works as an interior decorator in Fulpmes. He is in close contact with Dawa Khan Menapal.

    Christoph Bierwirth

    is our vice chairman. Originally from the Munich area, he studied in Innsbruck/Austria and now lives and works here as an architect. He has already been in Bolivia, Tanzania and Uganda for a longer time as part of aid projects.

    GUDRUN KRALL

    has known Zahir since 2015, when he arrived in Austria after fleeing Afghanistan. Since then she has cared for him personally and paved the way for successful integration. She has been a dedicated team member since the foundation was established.

    Elisabeth Proksch

    is a retired elementary school teacher. Since 2015 she has been helping refugees learn the German language and other matters. (Zahir Shah was one of her first students.)

    Team Afghanistan🇦🇫

    Dawa Khan Menapal

    is our General Manager in Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan. He is a teacher and responsible for:

    • choosing the right children
    • the respective admission procedure and the administration of the school,
    • the provision of books, notebooks, pens and all other school supplies,
    • and for the payment of the scholarship contribution.
    • He offers monthly workshops (supervision and support with schoolwork, painting, handicrafts, sports activities etc.),
    • he visits the students 2-3 times/month at school,
    • and he meets with their parents to discuss the children's future.

     

    Najibullah Bezar

    is our onsite deputy. He is currently teacher at Abdullah Ibn Mubarak High School in Ghazgai, Momandari district of Nangarhar province. He is in charge for the tasks listed above.

    Lal Zada

    is secretary and supports our projects in all matters.
